N4ITK MRI Bias Field Inhomogeneity Correction

Radiofrequency (RF) coil inhomogeneities produce low-frequency intensity non-uniformity across MRI scans, complicating quantitative analysis, radiomics, and automated segmentation. This app applies the acclaimed N4ITK algorithm (Tustison et al., IEEE TMI) via SimpleITK to estimate and remove the smooth multiplicative bias field.

Clinical & Research Applications:

• Standardization of Brain & Spine T1, T2, and FLAIR MRIs prior to automated volumetric pipelines.
• Removal of surface-coil bright spots and deep-brain signal drop-offs.
• Zero deep learning hallucination risk — purely mathematical B-spline field fitting.
